The rate of teens who cyber bully range from 4-18% and the rates for the victims are much higher at 7-35%. For those who DO cyber bully, 6% report they do it often, 6% say occasionally, and 17% admit they have bullied with the year. The interesting part is, 55% of teens say they were cyber bullied multiple times in the year. Typically, cyber bullying peaks in grade 8 and then goes on the decline by grade 11. Research is not consistent in whether males or females cyber bully more often. About 50% of teens know someone who has been victimized on line. Interesting fact….84% of teachers say that they have been cyber bullied. Who would have thought?
